The PDMC has a mixture of seasoned and beginner magicians. If you are a beginner and are serious about becoming a magician or even doing magic as a hobby so you can have fun and fool your family and friends, please don’t be shy to join.
Additionally, the club holds many different nights where the members share magic together, and we regularly have seasoned magicians holding themed nights for us so we can all learn. Every day is a school day at the PDMC.

We have a wide and varied calendar of events that allow members to learn the art of magic, as well as perform and socialise with like minded people in a welcoming and friendly environment. Please visit our Upcoming Nights for more info on what’s to come.
Traditionally members met every Monday (excluding August and bank holidays). However, following the COVID-19 pandemic meetings have been changed to two meetings per month.
There is a joining fee as well as an annual subscription fee to be an ongoing member. These costs are minimal (around £30 joining fee and £30 annual subscription) but vary from year to year as per decision made at the Annual General Meeting.
You must be at least 16 years of age to become a member of the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle. However, we have on occasion allowed under 16s if accompanied by an adult at the council’s discretion.
Jumbo Day was the one-day annual sale and exchange typically run at the end of October and had become one of the UK’s most popular one-day events. However, due to the changing nature of magic, declining numbers and the COVID-19 pandemic, Jumbo Day is currently taking a hiatus. Therefore until further notice, Jumbo Day will not be taking place.
